Challenge
Democratic freedom rights are in decline around the world, and trust in democratic institutions is at an all-time low. In Hungary, the Fidesz government of the past 12 years has undermined the rule of law and democratic institutions. A significant part of the country’s economy and its means of communication have come under the control of the prime minister and his circle. Real news does not manage to reach the majority of population. In this situation, the activate citizens, the building of a social network of civilians, is the way out, in the face of poverty, fear, hate, exclusion and the eradication of the vestiges of democracy.
Our goal
The main goal of our foundation is to encourage and promote the creation and networking activities of self-organizing, autonomous communities and the development of a strong civil society in Hungary and the Carpathian Basin. We promote the foundations of the conditions for broad participation and civil control over decision-making. We pay particular attention to create channels for credible information and developing solidarity.
Our work
Our Foundation aims to promote democratic processes, creates and develops participatory programmes, represents disadvantaged groups and individuals, empowers disadvantaged groups, and launches projects for survival and sustainable development by providing tools, resources and social innovations.

Our founders are private individuals committed to creating and building a strong civil society in Hungary.
